This website serves as a resource for all things to do with the Shipbuilding industry of Inverclyde. A proud history that boasted the oldest family run shipyard in the world and the most productive.

The material on this site comes from a variety of sources, including the McLean Museum in Inverclyde. Please respect the copyright of the material. If there is anything you feel contravenes your copyright please get in touch. We actively encourage your participation and it would be great to be able to hear personal reminiscences and share photographs and information.

I dedicate this site to my father Denis Gillen; a Scotts' Man all his days, my godfather Tommy (Vincent) Rutherford, my friend and mentor William Kane and all the shipbuilders I have spoken to over the years.

This site is privately funded - any donations towards the costs are gratefully received.
